The development team explains the background of the Open Siddur to a potential Open Siddur hacker (yrosen) and a potential supporter (NatalieG). Natalie has some difficulty following the format of IRC chats. We might arrange to have separate chats for techies and non-techies, the latter using a service other than IRC. Efraim announces our acquisition of a digitized copy of a 1917 JPS English translation of the TaNaKh. The Open Siddur will help with the proofreading of scans of this edition in the public domain. Sara of the Siddur Sababa stops by to learn our development status and the potential of the Open Siddur for teaching Jewish Liturgy. Shira comes by and gets help learning our transcription interface.
